Using a Bank Card on Singapore MRT & Buses: SimplyGo Guide for Visitors
Supported contactless bank cards and mobile wallets can be used directly for public transport in Singapore without registering for a SimplyGo account.

You do not need to buy a stored-value travel card to use Singapore's trains and public buses. SimplyGo accepts supported contactless American Express, Mastercard, NETS and Visa cards, including eligible cards added to mobile wallets.
No SimplyGo account is required
SimplyGo says you can use an eligible contactless bank card for transit without signing up for an account. Registering a card is mainly useful if you want to view travel history and related fares.
Foreign cards are accepted
Foreign-issued American Express, Mastercard and Visa contactless cards can be used, provided the card is enabled for overseas use.
The foreign-card fee
SimplyGo states that foreign-issued Mastercard and Visa cards incur a S$0.60 Foreign Bank Card Admin Fee for each day they are used for fare payment. Your own bank may also charge separate foreign-currency or overseas transaction fees.
Use the same device or card throughout a journey
If you enter with a physical card, exit with that same physical card. If you enter with a card in Apple Pay or another mobile wallet, exit with the same device. Mixing the physical card and its mobile-wallet version can be treated as separate payment credentials.
